With moving from one country to another, unpacking, and trying to find some type of normalcy for now, I hadn't been keeping up on my favorite family at all. So when I read a few blogs and then went to the families website and seen the great news (I knew already Michelle was pregnant, I had to watch the Today show when they were on in May) of Josh and his bride to be's upcoming marriage and new DVD coming out, I thought it was just great! :-)
Can you imagine how many people are going to be at that wedding! I hope lots of pictures are taken and shared and I really wish Josh and Anna all the best! I think they will do very well in life. Both coming from Godly homes, both serving the Lord, both with the same ideals, beliefs, etc. It will be a blessing to watch them grow and mature as husband and wife and parents as they stated they are leaving their fertility in God's hands. (Amen to that). :-)
Let's pray for the whole family, both Anna and Josh's as their wedding day approaches.
I can't wait to get this DVD in December! There is another Duggar DVD that can be purchased through http://www.quiverfull.com/

I am always the last to find out these things...and other thoughts from the day.
On another note, we received our car title in the mail yesterday. Hooray! And today we went and got the car registered and tags and all. $158!!!! I was floored! I couldn't remember how much it cost to register our car in Oklahoma or Kansas but I thought $158 was just a little much, know what I mean? But then again, I have been out of the States for a few years and have no idea what a normal price is for stuff like that.
We still have the rental car till Friday so I will be able to go to Bible study at the Mennonite church tomorrow evening. Yippee!
We have a small gecko living in the house. Those things are too fast and very hard to catch. But he leaves us alone and we leave him alone so he can stay as long as he hides. Growing up in Florida, lizards always found a way into the house and they didn't bother me.
Texas has some huge, huge, huge...cockroaches!!! Ewwwww just typing that word gives me the heebie jeebies I say!
We are talking roaches almost the size of the palm of your hand!!!
....and one of them is in the house!!!! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am sure their may be more in hiding but this one decided to make an appearance one evening last week and Robert threw a shoe at it (even he was petrified of its size), missed it and it scurried away somewhere. Eeeeeekkkkkkk!!!!!
I haven't seen it since, thank God. Maybe it went out the way it came in.
I think it's time to fog the house again....
Our alarm system in the house is acting dumb. I think I will have to call the folks and get them to check it out. When we set the alarm to 'away' when going out, it's fine for a few minutes and then the security system people call and tell us the burglar alarm is going off and the cops are there (this happened twice already). Nobody tried to break in or anything, it's just being faulty. Also the 'ready' light seems to only be working when it wants too which I think has something to do with the 'away' button and the alarm being set off.
Everything else on the alarm works with no problem as we still set it at night and when I am home alone, but for some reason that alarm keeps going off when we set it to 'away'.
The last time the alarm went off and we got the call, we went home to turn off the alarm and it went off by itself because the first time it went off, it was blaring away until we personally turned it off. I think the security people turned it off electronically for us.
We need to get an alarm sticker or whatever they are for our door so they can see that we registered the alarm with them.
Well I am off to do some Bible reading, devotions and alone time with the Lord!
God be with you,
Dawn

Have you ever seen the show "Jon and Kate Plus 8" on TLC? I think you would like that if you like the Duggars. As for the Duggars, they are who they are I guess. I saw an interview they did and can't say I agree with everything they said. Including that they do not approve of their daughters going to college. But it amazes me that some people that are against women going to college are all for Sarah Palin being vice-president. Go figure. Oh well. Though I do certainly wish them all the happiness in the world.
I am new to your blog and I love it!!! I also have a blog as well I just started so please check it out when you have a chance. I love watching the Duggars every time it is on. They remind me of my Pastor and his wife. They have 6 kids with no end in sight since they do not believe in preventing (you know what I mean) LOL I would also like to have a lot of children. Not as many as the Duggars but at least 6 or 7. Do you have any children by the way? I haven't got to read all of your posts just yet.
BTW-the new "The Duggars: 20 and Counting" is a book-not a dvd. I'm sure it will be very good but don't want you to be waiting for a dvd that won't be coming. :-)
Sarah~
Welcome to my little corner on Blogger. Personally I think my blog is boring compared to many of the others out there but for some reason I just keep yapping on and wonderful folks like you keep reading. :-)
My husband and I are Quiverfull minded and want a house full of kidlets but infertility is preventing that at the moment. But you know what, God is still an awesome and amazing God and I will continue to serve and honor Him, kidlets or not. :-)

Duh! Silly me...lol. Thank you dear friend for pointing out my error. :-)
Dawn - did you ever find out if there were any mennonite congregations near goldsboro nc on your group?? just wondering! I love the duggars too!! I think that would be an awesome book to read!
Texas roaches ... yuck. We do NOT miss them at all. We stayed in TX for 4 months; when we first checked out the apartment, I thought there was mice poo in the cabinets. The man showing me around said, "that's not mice poo, that's roach poo". Great.
Thank you for the memories :)
In Christ,
Joanne
Hi Dawn,
Does your alarm have a motion sensor? Maybe those giant cockroaches are setting it off!
They give me the creeps too,
Julie
I seriously think you have been very patient with your security provider. It should never happen that way. And you should get the sticker to be put on your window its be best deterrent more effective the alarm. I bought mine home alarm system a week ago and thank god it works fine. God Bless you. Nathan.
Hi Dawn,
I just stumbled on to your blog - it is very nice and interesting. Our family is actually attending the Duggar/Keller wedding (we are friends of the Kellers). You are so sweet to mention them - Pray for them. God has given them a unique minsitry - but the enemy would love to devor them.
Blessings,
Patti
I put up 3 pictures of the wedding on my blogspot if you would like to see them. Just click on my name.
Blessings,
Patti
