We have a house!!!!!!!

Yes that picture is our new home!!!! Oh praise be unto God.

The original asking price for it was $49,500. Beverly (our realtor and very sweet lady by the way) thought we should try to go down a bit and see if that bid would get accepted. We said 'okay'. I mean, she's the realtor after all, who are we? :-)
She put the price in the contract at $46,000 and the seller accepted it!!!!!!!!!!
Oh my goodness!!!

Now you ask, what's wrong with it that it would be that low of a price? Nothing.

It has a brand new roof (which is a huge plus), brand new carpet, marbled countertops and kitchen flooring (it's a black and teal marble..very cool), brand new paint job, central air / heat, vaulted living room ceiling, fireplace, oh did I mention the 2 bedrooms are on the 2ND STORY!!!! It has 1.5 baths and everything is in excellent condition.
We would need to buy a fridge and washer though, but that's not a big deal.

We have a small fenced in back yard and we don't have to pay the water bill or maintain our front yard as it's already done for us!

The seller of this house is motivated to sell and I must say he did a wonderful job making it a beautiful home. I will try and see if Beverly will take us by the place tomorrow so we can get inside pictures and I can share them with you all.

Robert and I are on cloud 9. :-)

We still plan on putting $26,000 down on this house in cash. That's another blessing God has provided for us.

Well my husband is hungry and I want an ice cream cone, so I need to end here.

Once we get back to Germany (Sunday morning) I will update on the rest of our trip and about our house hunting adventures. :-)
For now we are going to enjoy our last few days in America.

Bless you all! And I truly thank those who prayed that God would lead us to the right house.

Oh Dawn! That is a lovely home! I am so happy for you. Nothing wrong with a 46,000 dollar home. Shoot we are paying 32,000 for ours and it is a cute little thing! Huggles!

Michelle,
I am going to try and see if we can get inside the house tomorrow so I can get pictures. It's all up to the realtor. :-)

Dawn, looks like you found a gem. Texas is still affordable in certain areas. If you have any free time, email me and maybe you can arrange for a visit with us before you head back, if not, then once you are settled here, you must come visit us.

Amazing. We live in a very inexpensive real-estate market, and I've never seen such a nice home sell for such a low price. Congratulations.

Our house was cheap too, and we LOVE it. We have had (maybe 2) people say things like, "Well, just as a first house, until you get on your feet..."
No, we want to live here all the rest of our days. We love it. It's tiny, and I think many people want to be like the growing US population, where more is better. Not me, I want to have a simpler life, like you Dawn, so I can go out and be a part of this world!
