This is real beauty? I don't think so.

It's no wonder our young ladies of today have image and low self esteem problems. They watch shows like "America's Next Top Model" and runway shows and beauty paegents and want so desperately to look like them. Why? Because they are so pretty? Of course they are. It's amazing what Botox injections, plastic surgery, and gobs of make up will do for a girl, BUT IT'S NOT REAL!
Our young ladies are being brought up on a culture where if you don't tweeze your eyebrows and wax your legs and always have your make up with you on all times, then you aren't really 'in'. Not really popular.
It's our job as Christian women and Christian parents to tell these girls that they are being given a false hope, because real beauty comes from the Lord. It comes and shines through when one enters into the family of God.
Tyra Banks and all these other porcelian doll looking women are hiding their true beauty behind a fasade. What you see on television and magazines is not the real them. The real them has blemishes. The real them has wrinkles. The real them may have circles under their eyes. They got stinky breath in the mornings just like you and me.
They don't wake up looking like they do on television.
Let's enlighten our young ladies of today. Enlighten your daughters, your neices, your sisters-in-law, your cousins of what true beauty is.
Hi everyone. Just on here for a moment.
Thank you for the folks who said they would pray for me! (((((big hugs))))
Well the achey feeling left me Monday. I don't have a sore throat anymore. But my nose and cough are something else! Mainly the cough. Ugh...I keep waking myself out of a good night's sleep.
I thought it would go away on it's own, but it hasn't, so I asked Robert to pick me up some cough syrup today. I hope he remembers.
I thought I had some on hand but I didn't. I didn't really get sick at all in 2007 (praise the Lord for that).
So for now I walk around the house hacking like a cat with a hairball...lol.
Hallelujah Anyhow!!!
I still plan on writing about the retreat, but I want to nurse this cough first. :-)
God Bless You!
With gratitude,
~ Dawn ~
