Odds & Ends about me

* I hate politics. They are boring and it's worthless to sit and argue over who is right and who is wrong. I also don't vote. Reason being, I just don't care. This place known as Earth will not be my home much longer. And if you are a Christian, the same goes for you.
Our Father is coming back much sooner than we think. Are you ready? I know some Christians are super duper into politics for what reason, I don't know, and that's fine, but please don't snub your nose at me.
I don't complain about who is in office because I don't care. I pray for those in government positions though as they have a tough job.
The world does not want conservative Christians in office because it goes against everything the world stands for. Sure it would be nice to see someone who seriously was pro life and against same sex marriage and who stood for the Word of God, but the world doesn't want that and what the world wants, the world gets.
It's better we just focus on Christ's return because it's coming up here shortly.
When our life is all said and done, what will be most important is how well we served God. What we did for His glory! Not which candidate we voted for.

* I am a major ice chewer. It's quite addicting and I am trying to stop...or at least cut back. :)

* I love doing laundry. I love everything about it!

* I still believe in Santa Claus. Go ahead and laugh but it's true!

* I am not into enviromentalism. People get rather upset when they hear I don't recycle every single thing that comes my way. Please... the world is beyond help now. Going 'green' and trying to save Mother Earth is kind of late in the game now. The world is going to continue to worsen with each flood, with each earthquake, with each blizzard, with each hurricane no matter how many cans you recycle or how 'green' your car may be.
Instead of freaking over seperating paper and plastic, be more concerned about your unsaved neighbor. Their soul is more important.
If you recycle and are the 'green' type, thats fine by me. It just seems their is a stereotypical mind frame out there that all Christians should be concerned about the Earth and should eat raw / organic. Blech! Give me my meat please! :)

* I am addidcted to candles, cookbooks, Thomas Kinkade, Santa figurines, and Christmas waterglobes. I may have to share some photos soon of my addictions so you can see. :)

* I have been penpalling for 12 years now and love it! I am always looking for new folks to write too :)

* I used to want to be a country singer. My friend Jillian got me hooked to Wynonna / The Judds in high school and I became a big fan. I used to sing some. I even went into a recording studio twice and recorded some songs that were on karaoke, but it turned on horrible. I also used to write songs and try to learn guitar.
But....that was then.... in all honesty...I don't think I can sing, but those few years in high school gave me hope :)

*I used to be in the US Army.

* I got saved in the summer of 2001! Hallelujah! Got filled with the Holy Ghost not too much later. :) I used to be Catholic.

* I watch Christmas movies and listen to Christmas music year round. Oh and don't forget about Christmas books. I read them year round as well.

*I have never cooked with yeast because I am afraid I will mess my item up...LOL.

* I love dreary / cloudy / snowy / rainy days. Good days to go shopping! :)

*My brother is 11 years older than me.

* I have had the same best friend since I was 7 years old.

* I was in NJROTC in high school and loved every single moment of it! OOHRAH!

....and that is that. :) Now you know a little more about me. :) Don't criticize me too hard. :)

Love,
Dawn

Dawn, I loved finding out more about you. I love penpalling too. Sure, email opened a whole new range of possibilities, but there's nothing like old-fashioned *real* letters.

Very interesting! It's always interesting to hear about people. I don't know how I got sucked into the political junk but I'm addicted. I'm one of those freaks who thinks every vote counts LOL!

I am certainly not a mean green eating machine LOL!

Interesting that you were in the Army and lived in NJ. Ow, and don't feel bad I don't recyle either and could care less... I guess until they send me that fine for not recyling LOL!!

God Bless!!

It's great to get to know more about you!

The only recycling we do is reusing our own junk or trash for different things. Official "recycling" generally eats up more energy than it is worth.

Here's food for thought...
everybody seems to want to "save the world" via recycling and being green, but when the One who could save the world came, we nailed Him to a cross and killed Him.

Dear Christine,

I never lived in NJ... :)
NJROTC stands for Naval Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps) :)

I wouldn't mind living in NJ one day though :)

Voiceinthewilderness,

I 100% agree!

The Lord bless thee, my fellow bloggers!

If you ever move to NC, I will do a job for you that you hate, if you will do the laundry for my family of six! I HATE laundry! LOL

I do keep up with politics, even though I don't enjoy it. There was an article on Ladies Against Feminism(I don't care what anyone says-I like this site) about getting to wound up in politics. I haven't gotten a chance to read it yet. Have you?

No Deb, I haven't yet...maybe this weekend. I like LAF too. I gain so much wisdom from them. Many people look on that site and scoff and make fun of it. Usually it's the unsaved folks, but that's their opinion, who cares.
I thank God for Titus 2 / Proverbs 31 women who are teaching me to be a better helpmeet to my man. No unsaved woman is doing that for me.
Instead they keep telling me to get a job and quit mooching off my husband. But, they are not saved...that's what I can expect.

The Lord bless your Friday!

Greetings Dawn!

It's a pleasure to meet you too, I'm sure we will meet when Michelle gets here since we don't live to far from each other and also because i have the feeling she's going to have to pry me off her leg when she does. we haven't seen each other in 4.5 years!

The Euro rate stinks! I'm holding on to my euros as much as possible because i have to bus to work haha!

Mom feels the same way you do, she's been here since '05 as well and she says "It's time to go home" she's hoping that will happen in April, but we know the military!
