Little slices of happiness

I found them!!! I found them!!! Our set of 'jacks'. Wooohooo! Robert and I bought these a few months back and played with them all the while having a blast. :) Then I had put them away somwhere and couldn't find them..until this morning when I was cleaning out a cabinet! :)

My sweet Sister in Christ Amy in Australia sent me a blessing in the mail last week! A lovely bookmark which she made and an address book. How did you know I was in need of a new address book??? :) You should see the one I have. It has big "X's" marked all in from people who have moved and people who have died. I never bothered to get a new one, just kept adding new friends in their.
Thank you so much Amy!
*does a happy dance around the living room*

I took this picture of the sun setting last week. You know...I have gotten some amazing shots of sunsets here in Germany. When I see them out my window, I can't help but thank God for allowing me to see His beauty. I could have been born blind or with an eye defect and wouldn't be able to see this master piece by my Creator. So, for my sight, I am thankful to you Oh Lord! You, Lord beautify my world with your colors and I am grateful that you allow me to be alive on days like this.

The sunrise this morning. Funny thing is right after all this beautiful color emerged from the sky, it didn't become sunny, just another dreary day here in Germany...LOL.
Another sunrise picture from this morning.
Oh my goodness...do you remember Lisa Frank stuff??? I loved her stuff when I was younger and I still do! I remember always getting her folders, stickers, Trapper Keepers, etc. Yesterday when Robert , Tony and I were in Mainz Kastel, we were at the toy store and I was walking around I spotted these! You should have seen me. My eyes got really big and I had this huge smile on my face and I ran over to the "boys" toys and showed Robert my treasures. He was like "who's Lisa Frank" LOL. Hmmm...maybe he will buy me a few more sticker books like this for Christmas.

Some of you may not know, but I am addicted to Christmas books (not the romance type though, but more the Christian based themed ones). They just set the mood right, ya know? Plus I read them year round as to keep that Christmas spirit alive. :) I found this yesterday while the 3 of us were in Wiesbaden. Yippee!! I am reading it now and of course it's wonderful...even if I am only on the 3rd story..LOL.

Well it is the beginning of Thanksgiving week. Yippee!!! Robert works 3 days this week and then he's off till next Monday!

He went to the dentist this morning to have a cavity filled and he came home and was talking to me and I was like "um, what did you say?" LOL. His mouth was numb of course and it was funny hearing him talk. But I know what that's like. :)

Later this week we will begin putting Christmas things up. We normally do after Thanksgiving, just begin it though. I try to have everything completed by the 1st of December. I wish there were more American electrical outlets here though. I mean, there are like 2 in the living room and that's it. Ugh! Thank God for battery operated stuff huh? :)

I really need to sell this pile of stuff that's been sitting here on eBay already. I have been putting it off and putting it off, but I would like to do it this week and hopefully it all sells so I can get rid of it. Our thrift store on base isn't taking anymore donations unless it's something useful :)

This coming Friday, Saturday and Sunday our PX is giving away free $20 gift cards to the first 100 customers so of course me and Robert are going to be in line all 3 days. Plus we can register to win $25 gift cards and they always pass out coupons for 10% and 20% off any item in the store on each of those days, so I can't wait for this. There aren't many people left on our base so I hardly think there is going to be a big line outside the door. Even when I did this in 2005 and 2006, the line was maybe 20 people long or so. Others trickled in after the doors were open minutes later.

I will begin writing out my Christmas cards this week :) I still have the addresses of those whom I sent Thanksgiving cards too so you know you will get a Christmas card from me. If there is anyone else out there who would like a Christmas card, just let me know. I want to be a blessing to you!

Hugs,

Dawn

My goodness what lovely sunsets! "Red sky at night, Shepherds' delight. Red sky in morning, Shepherds' take warning!"

I LOVE trapperkeepers! My goodness they are the best way to organize hahahahaha! And lisa Frank stickers rock - especially if they are horses or hearts.

Why does coffee catholic not allow comments from those not in her little inner circle? Is it because she just wants to be glorified by those that agree with her opinions, a bit like Hitler, Stalin and other such dictators? Be open, not closed, spread the word, don't hide it away. Do not be afraid of others, make your views known, and allow others to debate with you. May your God be with you, and watch over you always.

Dearest Westerntranny,

Imagine someone coming into your house and telling you how they disagree with you and how wrong you are for your way of thinking and doing things and constantly coming over every day telling you this.
What would you do? Probably kick them out right? After all it is your house, you don't have to take that from anyone.
Well the same goes for a blog my friend.
Would you allow for a myriad of folks come on your blog and berate you like you are a worthless human being? Of course not.
Coffee Catholic doesn't have to either.
Fellow bloggers kept coming on her blog and making her out like she is nuts and all the while she was just trying to explain what she is talking about.
Computers are very one dimensional. It's hard to discern what a person is talking about with just words on a screen.
I personally have chatted with Coffee Catholic on the phone several times. Very caring person actually. And she's nothing like fellow bloggers claim her to be (i.e. mental, unhappy, lonely, oppressed, rejected, etc). Those folks who say that, never got the chance to know her because they chose not too. Their loss, not hers.

She is not hiding from anyone. She just chooses to have her comments off. She's allowed to express herself that way if she likes, it is her blog :)

The Lord bless thee!

westerntranny, if people would have engaged in debate rather then personal attacks then I would have left my comments open. Look - right now you are a perfect example! You come marching in here on the attack, telling me I want to be glorified, likening me to Hitler and Stalin and dictators. And then you expect me to want to engage in dialog with you? Give me a break! I don't have time for your version of "debate."

You talk about debate but where is the debate in what you have just commented? There is none. It's all personal attacks in an attempt to bully me into re-opening comments. I guess that you hope that by lobbing such accusations at me I'll be forced to "prove you wrong" by opening my comments back up - otherwise people will think I am Hitler! No thank you, westerntranny. I don't care what peope think. And at the same time I do not have to lay myself open to blatant disrespect from other people. God bless you too.

Hi Dawn ;o),
I've sent you (and others) an email detailing events at my home yesterday with junior (requires prayer). Hope you'll have a chance to read it. For Michelle: If you like to cook and would share a recipe, I'd love it. I enjoy cooking and wish to 'expand' my menu! Dawn has my email and perhaps if you'd rather, or if you wouldn't mind an email pal (rather than pen pal) who's a bit older (mid 40's), I'd be happy to say hello ;o). Anyways....I make a nice clam soup among some other foods....not much of a bread maker, I'm afraid. I realize this is a weird place to bring up this stuff! LOL. But, can't hurt to try, eh? ;o) Have a blessed Thanksgiving, ladies.

I am very sorry that you took my comment as an attack on you, that was not my intention. A blog is not like a house, it may belong to the person who writes the posts, but it is in no way the same as someone kicking in your door.
I enjoyed reading CC's blogs, and did, once or twice leave comments, I also thought that CC was very good at defending herself, and her way of life. I have had some very nasty comments left on my own blog, but don't run away from them, some are critcisms, some are from idiots who have nothing better to do than write stupid comments, however I NEVER closed my comments, because the web should be FREE, and the idiots will get bored and move on. I hope that you CC will pray to your God, and maybe He will show you the way. God Bless and protect you always.

Just 'blog trolling' this morning & came across you!! We're getting ready for a move to Germany & was wondering where you are & can I expect such BEAUTIFUL scenery?!?! We're heading to Darmstadt...

Anyway - I'm putting you on my 'links' list --- hope that's okay!

Blessings beyond measure!

CC has written a blog posting attacking me, yet I cannot answer her back because CC is still afraid of the Big Bad Wolf. CC blatently disrespected me, and in a manner which nearly brought tears to my old eyes. I offered the hand of friendship, I asked questions of CC here, because I can not do it in thewalledgarden. You have hurt me CC, I apologized to you, but you then went and RAPED me on your Blog. I'm sorry for using that word but that is how I feel now. I hope that you go to confessional this week and think about what you have done to me. May your God forgive you, because at this very moment in time I can not.

Dear westerntranny,

I don't want to get involved in things with you and Coffee Catholic.
I am sorry you were hurt but I know Michelle and she wouldn't just hurt someone on purpose.
Sometimes things are read wrong on this crazy blog world and things are misinterpreted.

Pray for CC, pray for me, pray for Aussie Mistress. It's the best thing you can do.

There are many other blogs (mine included) out there for you to participate in. I am a rather boring blogger and don't have much to offer as far as the things like CC does, but as long as respect and decency is shown on my blog, you can come visit anytime. :)

Women are emotional creatures and we get hurt and our pride gets stepped on quite quickly. Give it to the Lord my friend.

Now...I am off to finish dinner before my love gets home. :)

The Lord Bless thee!

With the wet season mail often gets trapped!! :) I am glad you liked it, I saw the address book and thought it would be a good gift for you...you send lots of mail! And I am glad you like the book mark, I started it when I found out you were sending me the clothes, so it was for you all along :)
Bless you Sis!

What wonderful pictures!
I never seem to have my camera when I need it. I was carrying it in my purse. But, it would set off alarms in stores at times. LOL I didn't like explaining I was getting snap shots for my blog and forgot my camera was in my purse. LOL

WoW...
Sorry for the drama on your blog. Sorry it couldn't have been delt with in private!

God Bless You My Friend
Rebecca

I remember Lisa Frank lol! It seems like they are bringing so many things back now that I grew up with, like Strawberry Shortcake, the Smurfs, care bears, etc.
