Hey everyone! I hope you all had a blessed Sunday! I didn't wake up early enough to get ready for church so I didn't go. So, as Robert and I were debating what we should do, we decided to go to Vogelweh. Vogelweh is an Air Force base an hour and 25 minutes from us here in Darmstadt. The Air Force bases here in Germany are great! Much bigger bases, much more selection of everything! I am sure even there base housing is better than the Army's!
These are just scenery pictures I took going to and from Vogelweh. Hope you like them. Yes, I took them from my car. :)
Robert did a great job driving back and forth. Usually on weekends, the autobahn's are not crowded at all. That's the best time to travel!
So, we got on base and I was starving! Robert had breakfast, I didn't. So I had Taco Bell again for lunch. It wasn't that good. Oh well, it was food. While in the food court, I saw this woman...I know she is UPC (United Pentecostal Church), and she had hair down past her knees!!! And it was in a braid!!!! Very pretty! Robert's like, "how do you know she's UPC?" I said, because she has long hair and in a denim skirt.
After lunch we shopped. I got a hymn / gospel CD, 2 packs of tealight candles, 2 gretting cards, and Little House on the Priaire Season One on DVD (now all I need is 2 and 3, and my collection is complete). Robert got a CD and DVD.
We stopped in at the furniture store and walked around. Then went to the shoppette and I got a soda and we grabbed some junk food.
And then we left for home. Once we got home, not more than 10 minutes later, our friend Tony (18) came over for a few hours and him and my husband watched anime and played video games. I made steak, steamed corn, and mac & cheese w/ bacon for dinner (I hadn't taken anything out in the first place and since it was getting late I just grabbed the first thing out of the freezer and cabinets).
The dishes are done, the kitchen is clean, I have my candles lit through out the house, Tony and my husband are relaxing in the living room, and here I am. :)
It's been a rainy / windy day today. That's normal for Germany, but not for summer. I am not complaining though. I love dreary days!
