"Grace be to you and peace from GOD the Father, and from our LORD Jesus Christ" -- Galatians 1:3
I hope each of you are having a blessed Shabbat afternoon! I woke up at 6:30 this morning with an urgency to devour the Word before I began breakfast and got hubby off to work. In the stillness of the dark morn', I opened the front door to let the cool air in, lit some candles and soaked up what Yahweh wanted to me know in those first few hours.
I am glad I didn't go back to sleep. =) Although I will probably be a walking zombie by tonight, it's worth it though. He is worth it! \0/
This one verse of Scripture...we all have read it hundreds of times, heard it preached from the pulpits, seen it in greeting cards and maybe on a billboard.
But for me this morning, it just meant the world to me seeing how I just came out of the worst valley I've had to endure thus far in my 10 years as a Believer and it really took my breath away (don't you love when Scripture does that?).
Galatians 2:20:
"I am crucified with Christ; nevertheless I live;
yet not I,but Christ liveth in me;
and the life which I now live in the flesh
I live by the faith of the Son of GOD, who loved me,
and gave Himself for me".
Oh my goodness...exhales. Just read those precious words slowly...let them sink in.
I am crucified with Him, yet I still live....He lives in me (halleluYAH!)...this life, this very moment that I am living it is by faith (not by feelings) of Him, that LOVED ME (and you) enough to freely GIVE (He wasn't forced) Himself for me (and you).
Exhales...WOW! =)
On another note...revival meetings (well, they aren't necessairly revival meetings) have begun at Grandview. They started last night, will have one tonight, one tomorrow morning and one tomorrow evening. We have a guest speaker..Seth, something or other (I am really bad with names) and I think he's from the Mennonite church in Commerce Texas...I think.
He's a really good speaker! Really good. His teachings are on The Home.
Last night was geared more towards the Fathers. But I will tell you I got alot out of it and felt the spirit of GOD amongst us during the message. My poor hand couldn't keep up notetaking. =)
I plan on going this evening (super excited), tomorrow morning of course (fellowship meal after service...I am bringing 2 dozen cinnamon sugar mini muffins which I will bake in the morning), then tomorrow evening I want to go, but I am not sure I will...it's a 40 minute drive there and back, which isn't long...but driving back and forth, back and forth for the majority of the day just wears me out.
We shall see. A sister invited me to relax at her house after the 1st service / meal instead of coming back home, so that's an option.
But...I need to go grocery shopping!
I'll figure it out.
A few snapshots from my life as of late:
This is only the beginning (oh my goodness, these smell sooooo good!). I have to wait till payday to go back to Yankee (plus I have a coupon to use there).
Hello, my name is Dawn and I am a candle addict!
I've already began highlighting, outlining, underlining things in this Bible so it's getting put to good use. =)
How many times do we complain about the food that is set before us? Or maybe you only have rice and beans to live on till the end of the month and are feeling ungreatful about it. We need a gratitude adjustment! -=)
Like yesterday, hubby made us tunafish sandwiches for a late lunch. I am not a fan of tuna. I will eat it in a casserole, that's it. But, he made them and I was greatful for that. So I prayed over my food and ate away and you know what, it wasn't really that bad. =) I think the smell just gets to me.
I could have complained, but I just thanked hubby instead for helping out.
Our homes...although they may be falling apart (ahem...-blushes-), they are our home sweet homes ladies. They are the castles are beloveds come home to every day to escape the wickedness and filthiness of the world.
So whether you live in a 1 room rumbleshack or a 3 story farmhouse, or a condo in New York, we need to make our house a place of refuge...a home.
Tomorrow if you go to 1st day meetings...go out of your way and invite a handshake and a smile to a stranger.
It's a sad deal if you don't know the people in your congregation.
In many churches, a soul walks in and walks out without ever being greeted by others.
Make that choice to be hospitable!
It made me cry in the store because I thought about all the days I have went without thanking GOD for anything...many many days, weeks, even...months (sob!) during my time in the valley. How selfish I had been to the One who dares to give me the breath of life each day!
Well, I am going to go back into the Word and devour as much as I can before I need to get supper on, hubby comes home and I have to leave for service this evening. The hours are just flying by today it seems.
WAIT!!! Before I go, I want to leave you with this Scripture, especially if you are weary hearted or in need of some encouragement:
Revelation 7: 9-14
"After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number,
of all nations, and kindred, and people, and tounges,
stood before the Throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes,
and palms in their hands;
and cried with a loud voice, saying,
Salvation to our GOD which sitteth upon the Throne, and unto the Lamb.
And all the angles stood around about the Throne and about the elders and the four beasts,
and fell before the Throne on their faces, and worshipped GOD, saying,
Amen: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honor, and power, and might,
be unto our GOD for ever and ever. Amen.
These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the LAMB.
Love,
Dawn =)
