We are in a global economic crisis. Businesses are failing, factories are closing, and the housing market is plummeting.
People are losing their jobs and retirement funds are dwindling. The government of the United States is considering drastic measures to avert further economic collapse.
Many are fearful, distressed, and depressed with the grim prospects ahead in a troubled, crumbling world. Some have taken their lives in the face of financial reverses and losses. Furthermore the freedoms we have been enjoying seem to be steadily eroding in an increasingly anti-God climate.
What is beyond the horizon? As children of God, we don't know what the future holds, but we know and trust the One who holds the future in His hand. We look beyond the scope of these troublesome times on earth with a solid, living hope of a glorious future with our Saviour in eternal rest.
Until then, we are to live by faith as we anchor our trust and security in our faithful, unchanging, almighty GOD. With such a firm confidence in Him, we do not need to live in the grip of fear, or anxious worry. "I will trust, and not be afraid" (Isaiah 12:2).
God is still on the throne and has everything in His control. Nothing takes Him by surprise as He accomplishes His sovereign purposes with infinite wisdom. He is our Rock, our Refuge, and our Help in time of need.
With the assurance of God's abiding presence and all self sufficient grace, we can face an unknown future with calm serenity and deep, settled peace.
God will provide for our needs and give us strength and wisdom to face whatever happens. He will safely guide us through the uncertainties of our pilgrim journey to our Heavenly home.

Above this devotional is a Bible reading that goes hand in hand with the message.
It's taken from Matthew 6:25-34:
25 Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat , or what ye shall drink ; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on . Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?
26 Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap , nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?
27 Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?
28 And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow ; they toil not, neither do they spin :
29 And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
30 Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is , and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?
31 Therefore take no thought , saying , What shall we eat ? or, What shall we drink ? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed ?
32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek :) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
When I read this devotion and Bible reading today I knew YHWH meant for me to read it.
We are going through some financial strains and normally I don't panic or worry about it because I know YHWH will take care of it, but this past week, for some odd reason I started to panic and got fearful. I am in charge of the finances so when all of a sudden you realize you have more bills then money, it can be quite a panic moment, your fleshly carnal side comes out, and GOD goes out the window while you try to figure it out all by yourself instead of giving that worry over to GOD in the first place. :) I normally give everything to Him anyway, but for some reason, I didn't give this situation over to Him but tried to handle it all my own and failed at it.
Then I read the day's devotion (which is posted) and the Scripture verse along with it, and of course the light bulb moment appeared and my paranoid freaked mind was at rest once again. I knew in my heart everything would be alright but my brain wouldn't comprehend that and only focused on the 'here and now' but now my brain and heart are in step with one another, and now I can rest assured YHWH has it all under control.

Shabbat Shalom
blessing to you dear Sister
I love the photograph and I'm glad to hear that you have found peace in your situation.
Sabbath blessings Dawn.
As long as god is with us, the future is never scary and He will see us through.
Having more bills than money is indeed a scary situation. My husband is self-employed and when we were newly married we were in such a situation. I prayed about it and God gave me the insight that if I got a job it would not only bring money into the house with which we could pay our bills but it would also take a lot of strain off my husband. I got a job and it helped us over the difficult time.
