~*^It's the most wonderful time...of the year^*~

You can't have the holidays without the scents! :-) I also have several large jar candles but couldn't fit them in the picture...lol.

3 more books to go with my Christmas collection.

4 more CD's to go with my Christmas collection. 3 out of the 4 are just instrumental. I love instrumental music! It's so calming!

I have to take this back to Target tomorrow because it makes this horrible clicking sound when turned on because the train isn't working or it's stuck. Ugh...didn't plan on going back to Target anytime soon...oh well.. Now where did I put that receipt? Who knows?

I love red/green Christmas plaid anything! It's so...ummm..nostalgic! :-)

Every year Robert and I pick out an ornament together and here is our new one for this year. Got it 50% off at Hobby Lobby! :-)

Ahhhh I love this time of year! It's great! And for some reason I am missing Germany during this time. I was thinking about how cold it is, and the Christmas markets going on or getting ready, the smoked cheeses, the Kathe Wolfhart Christmas stores (Google her name and you will see her beautiful villages and ornaments)... I don't know...I guess I am reminiscing...

I only have to get Robert 3 more things and I am done Christmas shopping for him. He was easy this year.

Mom...if you are reading this, I think I found one of the lists you gave me...but, well, you know I lose papers easily so you may want to e-mail me your list again...lol.

For my brother I just have to get him 2 more things and I done.

With Robert's family, they never exchange cards or gifts, or if they do, they have never included us, but we send them a card with cash in it.

Our insurance company finally contacted us today and said that they would be sending us a few thousand so we can finally fix the things that need fixing. I think she said $3,000 but I don't remember now. I wonder if that's enough...don't know...

I told the lady on the phone that I am clueless as to how to go about this as I have never been a homeowner before so she kind of walked me through different things and she walked me through everything so I can better understand what she was talking about. I don't know...I am a new homeowner with zero experience.
Once we get this project done and completed we will go ahead if money is available and get our leaky kitchen sink fixed!
No wonder this place was so cheap to buy, it's falling apart! Thanks P.O. (the person who sold us the house) for not warning us ahead of time!
Sigh...oh well..God provides the money we need to fix what needs a fixin!
I have got to get my Thanksgiving cards written out this weekend! Normally I am on top of that type of stuff but my mind has been so scattered lately. I didn't even know today was the 14th!!! (It is the 14th, right?). I thought it was the 10th...lol.
Robert has signed up for next semester's college classes. He is only taking 2 though instead of 4. He learned his lesson this time around. :-) Plus he really wants to get a job. All these places are not hiring him because of his college hours...talk about ruining a man's self esteem! But, God provides our finances and needs so we aren't worried.
Hubby likes to work though, so hence the reason he wants a job already.
On my way to Target tomorrow to bring back that village piece I will make a quick stop at Goodwill and drop off 2 or 3 trash bags full of clothes and miscellaneous stuff. Been sitting in the corner for months now...tired of looking at it collecting dust. :-)
I also have a huge pile of stuff to get on eBay. Just haven't gotten around to that yet as I am still organizing the upstairs and making more room for things.
Okay I keep hearing noises and thumps in the backyard and I am about to crawl the walls in terror..... dear God, please protect me and this house and all the houses on the block from thieves and people strung out on crack (I have been told multiple times the main people who break into homes are normally strung out on crack...how nice huh?). Amen.
God Bless,
Dawn

Dawn,

Didn't you get your house inspected before you bought it? If so were any of the problems found during inspection? It just seems to me you should have been told about the upstairs A/C and the plumbing problem.

I hope it all gets fixed. You can always check the BBB (better business people (can't spell the last B word... LOL) to find some one safe and dependable to do the job.

Get that leak fixed. Spend a little today or pay double in the future. We are first time home owners also. I know how scary it all can be.

Yep we had it inspected..so much for $300+ huh?
None of these problems were found during the inspection.
I found out though about the a/c issue is that is it like that in all the townhomes here. The top floor is warm and not very cool during the summer even though the a/c is circulating just fine, and the bottom floor is freezing. It's just the way these places are made I was told. So I am glad I am not the only one with this issue in the summers. :-)

I do want to get this leak fixed and will talk with the hubby once he gets home. We have to pay the taxes (just got the huge bill today), plus his next semesters college tuition (we are doing this college thing debt free, no loans, ect), and some other large thing, I forgot what it was as my mind isn't cooperating with me this evening, so the kitchen sink in the last thing we need wrong. But we will see how we can re-work the budget to make this fit in.

It will all work out somehow, I am not too disgruntled. :-)

You really do love christmas

Your taxes are not part of your payment? I got our taxe bill Monday and it scared me to death. Did the same thing to me last year. LOL I remembered this year the company pays it. Comes out of our monthly payments. So I didn't call them again this year. We just get the letter for our records.

Oh, it will all work out. God is in control. When I start to think about it all I get almost panicked at times. Then I think about that scene from Gone With The Wind at the end when Scarlet goes on about what will she do. She finaly says. "I can't think about it now, or I'll go crazy, I'll think about it later." I giggle then pray about it and walk away. Funny how something like praying can give you peace.

Ok, I'll stop typing. Got to get Thomas up for school. LOL

Have a great day!

P.S.
Your candle collection makes mine look like a starter kit. LOL

I miss Germany at this time of year too! We were stationed in Buedingen for three years....nothing compares to the smell of the market places during the Christmas season. My kids still remember St. Nicholas' day when people would dress like him and give them big chocolate St. Nicholas candies. I look forward every year to hanging up the ornaments we bought in Germany and at the Christmas store!! Reading your post brought back so many memories. Because I love Christmas so much we always put the tree up on November 1st. I said I wouldn't put the rest up until Thanksgiving night but I couldn't resist.

Anyway, I read in one of your back posts that you were here, at Fort Riley. We've been here five years. We moved off post into Manhattan a year and a half or more ago. I hope that your house issues get delt with well before Christmas! Have a happy day:)

Your Christmas items look lovely. Stay safe dear but I understand what you're going through. The people who live behind me had their windows open one day and the wife was yelling at the husband??? Go ahead if you want to go back to jail! Gulp! Sometimes I wonder if there is any place that's completely safe anymore. We all just need to put our safety in God's hands. Perhaps He has us living where we are so we can be witnesses for Him!

WOWIE ZOWIE, that's a lot of candles!!!

We've got the same hot-top-floor, freezing-bottom-floor here in Alabama too....but it's government housing, so we're kinda stuck. Hope you get your leak fixed tho!

Dawn, with Robert out of work do you think you should be spending so much money on non essentials?

Have you thought, since as yet you have no children, of getting a job to take some of the pressure off Robert who has to study as well as support you both?

Dawn - I love all your snow globes and decorations you bought at Hobby Lobby! I love that store and can get myself into serious trouble there! Luckily, the closest store is about an hour from here! I love candles, too, but with the kids and the cat, I have been buying reed diffusers and just love them!
God bless
