Just a few updates and pictures....

Currently reading...

Previously read....

Me and Anna at the Hobby Lobby. I love taking pictures in their mirrors for some reason :-)

Went to church 4 times while in Oklahoma and oh...what a blessing it was! Thank God for Holy Ghost preaching, it's exactly what I needed! Hallelujah!

Robert preparing the ground for his garden....

Our new couch... very comfy...

What our new dressers look like....

Robert showing off our new shower head...it's awesome!

New kitchen table...

We are now proud members of....

We got this little entertainment stand at the Family Dollar for $20.

Anna and I outside of the Atlanta Bread Co.

Our first rental car....

What we are driving now...

Our 2nd rental car...

These are the most coolest things! I just love them! If you don't know what they are they are air fresheners that smell like fabric softener and if you don't know, I have some weird fascination with laundry products like detergent, bleach, and fabric softeners...lol.

New vaacume.

Well, well, hello there...
I am finally typing from the comfort of my own home, but I won't tell ya how much AT&T is ripping us off or the hassle we have had with them. :-/ I will say once things get settled, we are going to go with someone else as they don't seem to interested in helping customers, but they sure are greedy for money....
I do want to take a moment and thank you all for the birthday wishes...what a blessing! You gals are awesome! :-)
So we were in Oklahoma for 4 nights and we had a blast! I got to meet up with Anna and her hubby and we had lunch at Atlanta Bread Co. and then we walked around Hobby Lobby and the Health food store before we said our goodbyes.
In case you don't know who Anna is, we 'met' here on blog land and you may view her blog at:
It was a blessing to meet another covered sister and of course another fellow blogger. :-)
While we were in Hobby Lobby my husband overheard a woman tell another woman, "did you see those 2 nuns"...lol. In response, my husband says"those aren't nuns, those are our wives." :-)
Anna's hubby said we got stared at alot in there but I didn't notice. I kind have gotten used to the stares so they don't bother me much unless they are openly staring with their mouth hanging open like I am some mutant freakshow...lol.
Also in Oklahoma I got to visit my old church and oh wow...it was just what I needed! I missed the fellowship, the unity, the Holy Ghost preaching, the music...
I didn't tell anyone I was coming so the first night I walked in there, some folks were rather suprised to say the least. :-)
I got a picture of me and the Pastor's wife but she asked that I not put it on my blog, so of course I am going to repsect her wishes (I wonder if she even reads my blog...if so...hello Sis. R!!!!).
But I got to go to church Thursday night, Saturday night, Sunday morning and Sunday night and each night was exactly what I needed for that day. Hallelujah...praise the Lord!
I plan on going back to Oklahoma in October before the winter months set in so hopefully I will be able to meet up with Anna again and of course go to church. I can't get enough of that!
We are still trying to get somewhat normalized here. Like we were over 2 weeks later getting a payment out to Paul (the previous owner of the house who took a loan out for us) because we didn't know when or how much to send and he told us today payments are due on the 6th of every month for x amount of dollars.
We got a money order out to him this evening and we asked if he will charge us a late fee and he said no. Praise the Lord...we didn't know.
Tomorrow we are going to walk over to the Homeowners Association as they are on the street across from us and pay our dues and hopefully get some info about things.
We still haven't gotten our car yet. Supposedly it's supposed to be in Dallas tomorrow, but that's what this place said last week too. So we will have to rent the car we are using again for another week as it's cheaper than doing it by the day. Sigh...I tell you what, this car renting thing is not so cheap anymore.
And of course the Army isn't going to reimburse us.
Robert begins his training for his job on Thursday. He's kind of nervous, but I know he will do well. The only thing we had to do was buy him some khaki pants as that's what they asked and we found them on sale for $10 at Target so we got 3 pair.
Speaking of Robert...my prayer warriors out there...please..please, pray for his salvation! If you live with an unsaved spouse you know how hard it is some days. Well, we have been having a few of "those days".
I still haven't forgotten about some of the questions you ladies asked. I will be able to get online more once Robert goes to work. So maybe by the end of this week you will have answers. :-)
Well it's almost midnight and I still need a shower.
I hope to get a good night's sleep...sleeping on this air mattress is beginning to get old if you know what I mean...
Our bed won't be here till the end of August either...ugh....
God Bless You.
~ Dawn

Praise God Dawn! So glad you got to get some good old fashioned Holy Ghost preachin'! :) It is rare these days but thank God we have a place where people still hold a standard!

Nice furniture!! If I was local, I would come by and sit on it hehe. ;)

Hmm, I thought I was the only one who had a slight obsession with laundry products. :) I do often wonder how things work with you being 'saved' and your hubby, not.

okay...sorry if this is long and rambling, but I have a query or two: were you unsaved when you married? If you received Christ as your Savior before, were you 'mennonite-leaning' in your desires, and were they made known to your husband at that time? I ask, because you have mentioned he goes to a catholic church (unless that is very sporadic). If he does attend one, have you considered by 'living apart' from him, you may be hurting your witness of Christ to him? I realize he may be absolutely indifferent or maybe supportive of your stance, but you are living as a polar opposite to your husband, so.....I wonder if he ever sat down with you and shared what he would like for you both on a 'church' level? Because, if he does, there are some saved catholics. I know the churches can be oppressive for a believer, but you are living so polar opposite from him in church and dress, I wonder if he's not interested in Christ?? I understand the covering issue; but sometimes it can be interpreted as an assail on the spouse's way of living, turning them away from the Cross, although not intended.

How have you and your husband arrived at living so separately? And in peace? For, if he was able to share that you were indeed not a nun, but his wife, yet, shares no interest in 'your way', have you considered asking him WHAT HE WOULD LIKE from you as pertaining to church and dress?

It would be interesting to hear this in either a reply here or a post.

Great post. Love seeing the pictures and hearing about your trip. I get the looks too when I go out with my head covering. I got so use to it that I don't even notice anymore. I think my husband would notice more then I would.

I will keep your hubby in my prayers. It must be so hard.

I've seen Anna's blog before and I think I even had it bookmarked lol. I like to see women living for the Lord, so if I see plain women OR nuns, I just smile at them.
