*** UPDATE ***
It's 4:35 p.m. and the movers STILL aren't here!!!!!!!!
*** 2nd UPDATE *** The movers arrived at 6 p.m. It is now 8:12 p.m. and they are almost done. Robert and I brought them McDonalds for dinner :-)
Hooray! :-)
Yesterday Robert and I waited ALL DAY LONG for the movers to come. Did they come? Nope!!!!!!! Ugh!!!!! So around 2 p.m I had Robert go check into our hotel room so we could at least get that taken care of and after that he went to the Transportation office and to ask where the movers are.
They said that the movers gave me the wrong information when they checked back with us last week and said they were coming today (Friday) in the morning.
So, we gathered up our stuff yesterday and just went to the hotel ( I will post pictures of our room tomorrow when I can).
The hotel doesn't have Internet access so as long as we are back in the apartment cleaning and waiting...we'll be online.
So, today we came over about 6:40 a.m. and was waiting for the movers. By 9 a.m. and still no big disel truck pulling up, we called Transportation and 30 minutes later they called us back and said the movers will be here between noon and 1 p.m.
So, we'll see...
It really puts a dent in our cleaning schedule. I can't clean much today as I woke up with lower back pain from sleeping wrong but I will do what I can.
The weather really is beautiful out which I am thankful for, esp. for the movers sake so don't swelter in our apartment. :-)
Well I will see you all tomorrow... I will have pictures of our hotel room and maybe even our empty apartment so you can see what govenrment housing looks like on this base. :-)
Friday blessings to all!!! I hope you all have a fabulous weekend!

That is really frustating when you wait for the moving company and they don't show or come late in the day. It's very poor customer service, unfortunaly it happens more than it should. Please though keep in mind that it is not the Army's fault. They contract the moves out and have very little control over the companies except to give them the job or not, when bases are closing many of the companies just stop caring because they know that most of their work is going to be gone.
Oh yes, we know it's not the Army's fault. In fact our Transportation office is frustrated with these Germans because we arent the only ones they have been doing this too.
I told hubby today..if the movers would have left us boxes and tape I would have packed my own stuff for them! ;-)
It's 1:30 p.m. here right now and the movers STILL aren't here!!! *sigh*
They came fine and on time for our unaccompanied baggage we don't know why they are doing this.
Maybe they are stuck in a traffic jam or moving a much larger family, but either way, the least the movers could do is call us and let us know when they are on their way.. *bangs head against wall*
God Bless,
Dawn
It's a different company. We were the oppisite we had problems with unaccompanied and little trouble with household. Take a deep breath it will soon be over.
My sister was married to a Marine many years ago, so I have heard some military moving stories. Hopefully they will be here on time today and you can get what you need done.
Praying for speedy healing in your back.
I sure hope by now you have gotten all packed up and taken care of. Bless you guys hearts.
Sounds like our moving in, when the movers forgot to schedule us and so showed up after dark so we were unable to inspect the unloading (they missed a few pieces).
