Robert and I spent the past 12 hours in our apartment cleaning, scrubbing, dusting, scrubbing, mopping, did I mention scrubbing? All for our final housing inspection tomorrow morning. The gentleman is expected to arrive either at 8 a.m. or 8:30 a.m. I forgot which.
I hope we pass the first time around, I really do.
If the inspector finds something wrong, he won't sign off on the paperwork until it's done.
Since this base is shutting down later on this month, hopefully he won't be too picky.
You know, when this gentleman did our pre inspection he said we will have a cleaning team come in after we leave.
I told Robert today "what in the world are they going to clean?" We did it all!!! Well except the windows, we didn't have to do that, but we did everything else, the floors, the walls, the fridge, the oven, the cabinets.
What possibly are they going to do?
I think I will ask the gentleman tomorrow as I am one curious soul right about now.
Tomorrow morning before the inspector comes we are going to do another sweep of the stairwell and I will mop it.
We gave lots of our unopened food to the man who has been lending us his car. He was greatful. Also gave him a HUGE box of unopened laundry detergent that the movers forgot to pack and tomorrow if he wants our cleaning supplies, he can have them :-)
Hopefully once the inspector passes us, we will go to Robert's unit so he can out process from that and then have the rest of the day to ourselves.
It's also payday tomorrow so we will go get some extra money to take with us to Texas.
Wednesday we will go shut off the Internet and pay our phone bill.
Beverly, our realtor has been such a blessing to us. She told is she got the boxes we mailed for our house and put that and some other mail we have already recieved in the house and will go ahead later on this week and see if there is anymore mail and will put it inside and will leave our keys in our mailbox as she won't be around for the July 4th weekend.
She also gave us the phone number to call so we can get our electricity turned on (water and trash is already paid for through the HOA - home owners association).
She also gave us the number for the phone company and Internet but we aren't too worried about that one, mainly just the electric for now.
She is such a blessing!!
Okay, well it's 10:40 p.m. and I still need a shower before I fall into bed, so I will close.

Hey, just a thought. In Texas you can go to www.powertochoose.com and it will list all your available electric companies and their rates, so you can get the best deal. It used to be "regulated" and you didn't have a choice, but now you can save some big money by shopping around a few minutes.
