Fear

Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows.

Matthew 10:31

What puts a feeling of fear into our hearts when we think of the future? Is it not the realization that our future is really beyond our control? We would like to have control over what is going to happen in the rest of our lives. But we all know that only God has this privilege. We may compare our desire for control to the teenager’s longing to control his own life. Many people think that we should allow teenagers to make all of their own choices; but we see the consequences.

We need to place our lives into God’s hand in complete trust and quit striving to have control. Fear will then flee. A child is afraid to go into a long, dark hall, but he is no longer afraid when his daddy comes, takes his hand, and goes with him. We, too, are standing in a hallway. We do not know what is down the hall to surprise

us. However, we know the God who is holding our hand, and we need not worry. Let us take consolation from the words of Jesus in Matthew 10, and realize what

a magnificent God we serve. He cares so much about us that He keeps track of the number of the hairs on our heads. We have no room for fear.

The way to take fear out of living is to put faith in the Lord.


What an awesome devotion huh? It comes at a timely manner where Christian and non Christian alike are getting concerned about the rising fuel and food prices.
They may worry that they won't have enough money to get by till next paycheck.
They may worry how they will pay their mortgage on time.

Oh but brother, sister, FEAR NOT says the Lord. Our Father knows exactly what you need, when you need and how much to give.

But what are you doing on your part? Are you cutting out the daily trips to Starbucks? Are you limiting the children's recreational sports to maybe 1 or 2 times per week instead of 5 or 6?
Are you researching more ways to be frugal, too cook with less, to plant a garden for your fresh veggies or are you still enjoying eating Domino's and McDonald's 4 -5 times per week?
Forget going to the mall (unless it's to walk and get exercise) and be happy and content with what you have. You have lots more than what some folks have. Be thankful for that!

Do you see what I am getting at? God will do His part if you take care of your part. Shew yourself worthy to Him.

Maybe your fear isn't about fuel or food costs, maybe it's something so simple, but it's a big deal to you.
Ask the Lord to help you conquer that fear once and for all.
I have one of those fears, in fact if I said what it was, you all would laugh and be like 'come on now Sister...really?' :-) No it's not really snakes or spiders, but it's just something so...dumb really...lol.
But I have been praying God will just let me let go of this 'fear' if you want to call it that.

One thing I do know is that, as Christians we having nothing to fear concerning our destination after this life is over. We know where we are going for those who have trust Him and are serving Him.

To the unsaved soul(s) who may be reading this blog. I ask that you take a look at your life. I am sure you are happy with your family and your house and your things, and I am happy for you.
Aren't you missing something though?
There is a God that loves you so much. A God that sent His Son to the Cross for you and I.
He wants you to come to Him, to trust Him because in the end, it will be Him who you will be bowing your knee too.

The time is drawing nearer to Christ's return. Look around you. All the stuff that is happening in our world is not just a coincidence.

Accept the Lord as your Shepherd and I assure you, you will not be disappointed. He will always be there for you when no one else is. He will never let you down. And he is a friend that sticks closer than a brother, like the Bible says.
