Food for thought?

You tell on yourself by the friends you seek,
By the very manner in which you speak,
By the way you employ your leisure time,
By the use you make of dollar and dime.
You tell what you are by the things you wear,
By the spirit in which you burdens bear,
By the kind of things at which you laugh,
By the records you play on the phonograph.
You tell what you are by the way you walk,
By the things of which you delight to talk,
By the manner in which you bear defeat,
By so simple a thing as how you eat.
By the books you choose from the well-filled shelf:
In these ways and more, you tell on yourself.
Isn't it the truth? As I read this little poem, I do it slowly and let it sink in. As Christians we are constantly being watched by the world. The world waits for the Christians to screw up (as if we are too be perfect) and then points the finger and snub their nose at us "see you aren't a REAL Christian, you got angry" or "you're not a REAL Christian, you didn't pray over your food" and so forth.
It is true we do serve God and not man (praise the Lord for that, huh?).
But thank you to Christian Homekeeper http://christianhomekeeper.blogspot.com/ for allowing me to copy this poem for my blog.
Maybe I will memorize this and tuck it away in my heart with Scripture because it's just that convicting! :)
Well I must be getting breakfast made (pancakes and sausage). Dixie ate thru the screen on our screen door this morning...oh how nice. And when is her new owner coming???? :)
God Bless You all. I hope you have a fantastic Monday! Begin it with Jesus! <><
