Christmas 2013... and other musings

December greetings, well what's left of it.  :)
I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas.
I really wanted to decorate this year, but to be honest, I was to lazy to pull everything out of the closet that the totes are in.  There are all kinds of odds and ends packed on top of the Christmas totes and I just did not want it toppling down everywhere.
Maybe next year.  :)

With some of my survey money and a 20% off coupon for Bed, Bath, & Beyond, I got Robert this for Christmas:

He loves it.  He told me a few months back he would like one.  We made sandwiches on it already and they were really good.

He didn't get me anything.  He wanted to but waited till the last minute and was going to use his plasma donation money, but by the time he walked to the store, it was closed.  Well, it was Christmas eve, so....
But that's okay.  :)

We went to church at 2 p.m.  It was a bi lingual service, but was mostly Spanish which I barely understand.  I had wanted to go to midnight Mass, but I was already asleep by that time and Robert didn't get up earlier enough to make it to the early Masses on Christmas.

My mom got us a $25 gift card to Chilli's.  And my brother got us a $100 gift card to Wal-Mart.  Robert's sister Virginia gave us a $5 gift card to Starbucks.
Robert's boss gave us a $20 gift card to Target, which I thought was nice.  Used that on groceries right quick.
Mom also gave us a $25 gift card to Wal-Mart which I've already used on groceries.

Towards the evening Robert's aunt, cousin and his 2 daughters came over and we chatted for about 4 hours.

We were driving around one evening before the car got repossessed and came across this lovely house.  The picture doesn't do justice.  But this persons house was so beautifully lit.  It seemed like they took the time to get everything right and nice looking.  It was a blessing to see that.  Kind of reminded me of my childhood in Florida when there were these 2 houses on Midway Blvd. that were always decorated so wonderful.

Other musings....

Well, there is no way we will be able to get our Mazda back.  There is no money to do so.
So, now we will try to save some money up each month to get a clunker of some sort plus tags, insurance, inspection, etc.

We've been walking to Save A Lot and Kroger for groceries. They aren't too far from the house.  Good exercise!  :)
When I need to go to Wal-Mart or Target, I ask my friend Jessica to take me.  And she does.  So grateful for her.

Robert has been getting rides to and from work from his co-workers, boss and as of late, his Aunt.  We are very blessed in that regard.  :)

As for my job, I e-mailed the main office in hopes to get rides to my various locations, but all I got was 'we don't give rides and you need to have reliable transportation for this job'.  I told them what had happened but I guess they don't care.  Thanks for the compassion guys!!!  :-/
I'm still keeping my job.  I don't plan on quitting, unless I get another one that is within walking distance from the house.  I already applied at Wing Stop and will probably do Circle K tomorrow as I know they are hiring.

Otherwise I am still taking surveys and wondering if maybe I should work from home.  A Facebook friend suggested a certain company and gave me all the details to look into it.  She's been doing it for a year, so maybe tomorrow or the next day I will read up on it.

I will close here.  I hope you all are well and happy.

GOD bless and keep you.

Love,
Dawn
