All pictures were taken by me...at Patty's house. :-)
Well Thanksgiving morning I woke up without any sleep. Between my husband's loud snoring and the neighbor's dog howling every 30 seconds all night long, it was a rough night.
After waking up, there was breakfast to make and dishes to be done, 2-3 loads of laundry going and a hubby to wake out of a deep sleep.
Then there were showers and getting dressed and organized.
Normally on Thanksgiving I watch the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade but we didn't get it on the few fuzzy channels we do get once in a while. I also make a light snack of cheese and crackers and liver sausage (also known as Braunschweiger) but we didn't have enough time for that either! Hopefully this week we can have our Thanksgiving snack. :-)
We left our house about 1 p.m. and found Patty's home sweet home without any problems. Her and her husband got to meet my hubby and I got to meet their family that she always blogs about. :-)
She didn't mind that we walked around and oogled her house and backyard with the farm critters and pretty trees. :-)
We offered help with anything but none was needed. Well, Robert did end up cutting the turkey. :-)
Lots of yummy food was served. I don't even know what all was there...let's see, we had, turkey, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, stuffing, spiced apple rings, rolls, candied yams, and ummm..a few more things that I can't remember now. :-) Doesn't matter I guess because it all was good!
Dessert was many various pies...yum yum!
After dessert we went into the living room to fellowship for a bit.
Then the turkey was beginning to hit my husband and he was getting sleepy so we said our thank you's and goodbye's and headed home.
Well, before we went home, we stopped at Sonic and got some soda's to get the jolt of energy we needed from a soda and then we passed a Wal-Mart in Midlothian so we went there.
It was the most cleanest, friendliest, orderly, trustworthy Wal-Mart we have seen in a long time. It's how a Wal-Mart should look...not like the ones in our area with no registers open, stuff everywhere crammed in shelves they aren't supposed to be in, frozen products spoiling in the candy bar aisle, toys thrown all over, ugh...Sam Walton would have a heart attack if he we're still alive and seen how his some of his stores look like now.
After our pleasant Wal-Mart visit, we went home.
See I had planned on getting up at 4 a.m. this morning to join the masses at a select store, and I was up because of my hubby's snoring, but I just couldn't get up and dressed just to get 2 items. I needed my sleep so that's what I did. :-) Besides, it seems the stores in my area weren't really offering anything like gift cards and coupons to the first 100 or so customers, like there was no incentive to get up that early.
We left about 11 a.m. today and went to Dallas to the Central Market. There is one in Ft. Worth also, but the one in Dallas is closer to us. And MapQuest was right on with the directions. It took us under 30 minutes to get there.
Oh the trees are so much more colorful and vibrant looking in Dallas. I couldn't get any pictures though as Robert was driving too fast. :-( Beautiful shades of bright red, orange, and yellow everywhere!
We found our favorite Holland smoked cheese at this market, hence the reason why we went. If you have never heard of Central Market, it's like an (to me) an upscale healthy living / organic / green store.
We also picked up some potatoes, avocados, and some tortillas. We were going to get some bread and meat as the meat wasn't priced that high at all, but we didn't know what we were going to do after we left Dallas so we didn't want to leave the cold stuff just sitting in the car.
We did end up leaving Dallas and dropping the stuff off at home before going to a mexican place in town for lunch.
Came home, rested, talked to mom, and we continued to organize the upstairs as my hubby is shooting a movie in our house this weekend, so we were just trying to get rid of the clutter which we did. :-)
I still have a little more to do tonight, plus the bathroom which won't take long at all.
We did end up going to our Wal-Mart this evening and it was a madhouse, no registers open, lines 70 people long, stuff thrown all over the place....just a typical day at our neighborhood Wal-Mart....lol.
I will go to a better one tomorrow to pick up some frozen stuff.
So, did any of you brave the masses today? Which stores did you end up going to? Get any good deals?
Well I must be going. Still gotta eat dinner and continue to pick up my home sweet home.
God Bless You!!! Have a safe weekend and Sabbath!

Sounds like a wonderful day you all had.
The wal-mart in Midlothian is new. That is the only reason it still looks nice. Our wal-mart in Cedar Hill was like that the first year it was open. I'm sure you have been there. It isn't like it once was. After awhile they just stop caring about the store and the shoppers.
We didn't do the early morning shopping either. I'm dealing with a snorer also. I bought cool purple ear plugs at wal-mart. They work great! You may want to get some. Get them in the pharmacy section. I got a cool little jar of 60. They have lasted me over a year.
We did get out later and totaly finished our Christmas shopping. Yes! Everything else I odrered online and am only waiting for delivery.
Have a great evening and stay warm.

I was scrolling through your pictures at the beginning of the post and got to the last two and thought ~ hey, that's patty's house! Lol, and it was!
I wish we had a nice Wal-Mart like the one you describled. I hate going into ours.
Our Walmart isn't very nice either (Hillsboro). Thankfully we have the outlet mall right there and often their prices are better than Walmart's and the stuff is often better quality.
Sounds like you had a nice visit with Patty!
Our Wal-Mart is kind of cruddy, too(Southern California). It used to be nice, but that changed! I have to say though, that the greeter is a very nice, warm man, and that makes all the difference to me! I love the picture of the goats. They are sooo cute!
God Bless

Sounds like you had a beautiful time! :):):) And you took some beautiful pictures! :):):) Blessings, Stephanie
Oh yes! I was out at 3:30am but you couldn't pay me to show up at a wal-mart. You know, someone dies at a wal-mart nearly every year - that type of insanity defies the spirit of the season and I'm not having any part of it. I love after thanksgiving shopping - in nice environments and I look forward to it each year :)
What a beautiful cat and enjoyed the goat photo too ... I've got a tabby point siamese that looks similar to the cat. She has blue eyes.
