Sorry I have been MIA for awhile. I just haven't been in the blogging mood. I have tons of things too chat about and pictures as well, but I would log onto my blog, stare at the screen and sit there with a 'duh' look on my face, then log off and do something else. :-)
Well our walls / ceiling have been dried out since last Friday. That's when the water restoration team finally took those noisy dehumidifiers. Now it's nice and quiet and I don't have to yell at hubby just to talk to him while sitting next to him. :-)
An adjustor came last Friday from the insurance company and took pictures and measurements and notes, ect. and said someone from the insurance company would be in touch with me this week. Well, tomorrow is Friday and nobody has called, so I guess we have to call them. There is this huge gaping hole in the ceiling where they had to cut open so it could air out and it really looks bad, so we need to get this process going already. I know insurance companies like to drag their feet though and hold on to the precious money, but, come on now.... :-)
We finally got reimbursed from the moving company from the stuff that was stolen by the movers in Germany. Woohooo! It's all in the savings now though. :-)
We still haven't done anything to my laptop, it's still acting insane and I am quite amused at the things it does when I am trying to write down all the stuff saved in my 'favorites'. Once I get all that written down, hubby can destroy the hard drive or whatever it is he needs to do so the computer can get up and running again.
I tried downloading anti virus / anti spyware stuff and it just would not let me.
The house is really turning out nice. Most of the clutter is gone and things are finally finding homes. :-) I still have a little more to do but it's not all consuming like it was a month ago.
Gas is $2.04 in our little area. Praise God!!!
***UPDATE***
*As of a few hours ago, gas dropped down to $1.98!!! I never thought I would see gas under $2. Amen!
Where Robert's family lives in Southern Texas, it's in the $1.70's!!!! Wow...
Christians, we need to bind together and really pray for our nation, our new soon to be President and his family, our neighbors, the leaders in other nations...trust me...
God Bless You!! Again, sorry for not being so chatty over the past week!
P.S. Michelle in Scotland had a baby girl named Elspeth on October 29th! Her blog has more details... http://www.coffeecatholic.blogspot.com/

The leaves in North Carolina are just beautiful this year. I work at night and just love looking at them as come home in morning.
I was wondering if Robert has found a new job yet. I was thinking about him actually when I saw show about employers are nervous about hiring national guard/reservist because it is costly to the company when they deploy and company must hold their position. But on the other hand they said they like hiring military because of their discipline and willingness to work hard.
Gas is about $2.37/gallon here. I hope it gets to $2.04 here soon!
Nope, nobody has hired my hubby yet.
He is going down to the unemployment office tomorrow, not to sign up for unemployment but to see if they could help him in getting a job.
This is NUTS! We both believe this whole 'apply online' is a joke. Why doesn't anybody want to have a face to face meeting done anymore? Or even paper applications. Ugh...the digital world isn't *that* wonderful.
But we will keep applying online and see what happens.
We aren't worried. God has provided us with more than enough funds to survive on and we are just so greatful for His provision.
But...hubby is getting weary and really wants to work already.
Thank you for thinking of my hubby!
God Bless your evening!

The colors will get a little better too. The red oaks get very pretty in the next few weeks.
We probably should have been on our knees in the last 8 years too.
I work for an insurance company & as a word of advice, stay on top of that adjuster. Sometimes they really are just backed up & take longer than intended to get back to you. But there are also bad adjusters out there who do drag their feet or go on vacation without telling you & leave you hanging. They are there to serve you so make sure they're doing their job.
We have had such a great fall this year too...just love the way the Lord paints our world.

Dawn does Robert have a resume? The army really should have put him through ACAP, and helped him build a resume before getting out. Either way, he can build his resume and post it on USAJobs. I think it would be a great route for you guys, there are so many jobs listed there and links to employers who want to hire military and ex-military. Hope that helps.
Great pics..so pretty I love the changing of leaves!! Yes i read your myspace post...great post!! Hope your having a fantasic week!! God bless

Dawn,
I am not sure what your husbands job experience is, but maybe he could try getting a job at one of the mennonite barn builders. They have several kinds of work so maybe there would be something that would suit.
yep i learned last year the leaves change here in texas.
i send all my favorites to my email so no matter what happens i still have them!!
