So glad it's June! :-)

Seeing as this weekend was our last weekend with our car, today we went to Ramstein and Baumholder and yesterday we went to Mannheim.
We tried to get all our grocery needs for the month of June. I mean, I can walk to our little gas station a block away for milk, eggs, and bread but we wanted to stock our fridge and freezer so we won't have to go out at all.
Our neighbor across from us in the other building said we can use his car if we need to get an errand done or when hubby begins to 'clear' this base and needs to turn in his gear, the neighbor said we can use his car. That's a blessing....
Tomorrow (Monday) got lots to do like make a run to the bank, the post office, the car wash, pay the Internet bill, DH has part 1 of a physical...among other things.
Tuesday we turn the car in to get shipped to Texas. I am rather glad as gas is now $4.14 here.
Wednesday the movers come to get our unaccompanied baggage. I have most of everything sitting in a pile on the living room floor right now. I will finish it off tomorrow. :-)
Not too sure what Thursday and Friday holds for us yet.
We got the title for our house now. Don't exactly know what that means. Does it mean the house is actually 'ours'?
The seller of the house (Paul) has decided to pay for a year's worth of 'warranty insurance' which basically will cover our appliances, water heater, a/c, etc. What a blessing. :-)
Another blessing what Paul has done for us... we got rejected by a 3rd mortgage company because of Robert's job situation, so Paul decided to take the loan out in his name so we can have the house.
We will be paying him until September (when Robert officially gets out of active duty) and then the loan will be put in our name.
Paul has fixed all the repairs the inspector found wrong on our house, so that's another blessing :-)
Our home owner's insurance for the year is almost $2,000 through the specific agency we plan on using. Robert and I decided just to pay it off in full so that way it's one less thing we will have to worry about in case things get a little tight for us.
Also our taxes for the year is about $1500. We decided to go ahead and pay that off in full for the year as well instead of doing the payment thing.
Supposedly we 'closed' on the house today, but who knows. I mean, that's what the paperwork said...lol.
Also, there is something else going on this week, but I am not going to blog about it till it's set in stone (no I am not pregnant). I will find out more details on the 4th God willing.
Ugh...it's sooooo muggy here....it's worse in the house.
I can't for the life of me understand why Germans don't believe in a/c....
Well it's nearing 10 p.m. and I still need a shower before I go to bed.
Just thought I would post an update about how things are going with this move and house...
I hope you all have a fantastic week ahead. Put Jesus first in the beginning of your day and you can get through anything satan throws at you!
Hugs,
Dawn

HI Dawn--I finally backtracked enough to find your blog! Yes, I've seen you around D'stadt (you're right, you can't miss the headcovering!) :-) BTW, we live on the top floor as well, and while having "free" housing is a blessing....WOW can it try your patience! I'm pretty glad we'll be back in the good old US of A before things get too sticky! I miss my A/C! Oh, and no, we have NOT had a nice time of things here in Darmstadt, so we are more than ready to see it in the rearview mirror too!

Glad everything is working out well for you and going smoothly so far. Housing isn't too bad, for the most part it's just up to which inspector you get. They're not uber-picky, just wanting basic standards.

Oh, and yes, you WILL need to make reservations at the Patriot Inn, they have so many people transitioning that it's almost a day-to-day thing lately! You'll get three days in the Inn prior to your flight date, so figure that in to your housing inspection timeline.

Blessings,
Kris
