Here it is almost 8 p.m. my way...I am tired. Probably from a lack of sleep. I am still waiting for a good night's sleep to come my way.
I wasn't able to go to church this morning because Robert had to work. I hate missing church. I may not agree with everything this Baptist church believes in, but I don't go to sit there and nit pick doctrinal issues, I go to worship our Lord and Saviour :-)
I have been cooking, doing dishes, doing laundry, folding laundry, picking up the house, organizing the junk in our basement. That last chore was the fun one though. I was able to go through 2 brown boxes of pictures, sort them by either year or event, put those pictures in manilla envelopes and put those in one of those Rubbermaid tubs.
Wooohoooo...2 brown boxes gone and in the trash.....got about...ummm...don't know...maybe 4 boxes I want to oragnize into Rubbermaid tubs and toss. Most of it is penpal mail that I have saved though the years. I don't know why I haul it around with me. I just can't throw those letters away. In fact I still penpal with many of those people!
Yesterday we called and booked us a hotel room for one week in Texas. This hotel gave us a military discount. :-) For a week, with taxes and all, it will cost about $370-$380. Not bad.
We also called and booked a rental car from the DFW airport for a week. Total for that including taxes is $191.
So, those 2 prices combined are within our price range so we are happy. :-)
Tomorrow I have to travel to an auto care center 30 minutes away and get 2 back tires on the car. The original tires from when we bought the car in 2003 are still on there and with us getting ready to turn the car in in 2 weeks, we need to get it done.
But get this...each tire was $136 a piece!!!! I don't know why they are so high, but we don't have a choice, ya know?
I am going to go ahead and wait for an oil change once we are back in Texas.
I have been helping Robert find jobs online. There are a couple decent ones we found. I have been telling him to get a resume typed up so we can forward it too agencies but he would rather play Game Boy or watch the devilvision (television for those of you who didn't catch on) than take the time to do this.
Oh well, right? ; /
On Friday night was the hail and farewell at a German place called Cubana's. It was supposed to be Cuban food but it was more Americanized than anything.
I had some chicken lasagne and Robert had chicken and rice. It was alright I guess. We were starving so we ate it. :-)
They did their hail and farewells and then everyone started drinking and carrying on so we left.
This is going to be a short week for Robert with Memorial Day coming up, so we plan on going to Ramstein Friday to see Sis. Lisa and her hubby one last time and also for Robert to pick up some gear.
Well I will end here, I have so much to do yet...
I hope each and every one of you have a blessed week ahead. Keep Jesus first!
I may post more on what other things I have read in 'Ten Traps of Television'. It was so good!
Blessings,
Dawn

Wow, Germany!
I enjoyed my visit to your blog. I love that you are able to go to church to worship instead of, as you said, "nit pick doctrinal issues."
We're a nearly-TV family ourselves. We still own one, we just don't watch it, and I've blogged a bit about that, too. Would love to have you stop in to my blog sometime. Have a blessed day!
you have been a busy girl Dawn. Getting all that organizing done.
Not much longer and you will be in the Lone Star state. This week its going to be in the low 90's most days, so summer time is approaching.
What sort of work does your husband do ?
Hi Dawn!!!!!! So I haven't emailed been busy, so I'm sure you understand.
Lots of love and stay rested,
~ Rosey
Always plenty to do when going home! Wow the price of those tires! Ouch but what else can you do? Praying all continues to go smoothly.
Can we pen pal?
Dawn, I have to write you and tell you, while I am loving your posts, there was a spot in this one that downed your husband and while he
is watching tv, what you said was not honoring to him. I know you did not mean it to sound that way but it came off that way to me.
I wasn't downing him, I was simply stating that he would rather watch TV or play his Game Boy then get to work on his resume.
If I were downing him I would say something like 'my no good husband needs to get off his rump and do something' which I would never say of course, but I was just stating in my post that things needed to get done and he has been vegged out on the couch drooling in front of the TV with his Game Boy for several hours every day since I have known him.
We are on a time line with his college and this move so I was telling my bloggers that he would rather do other things than take care of personal matters.
Sorry you read into that the way you did.
We used to live by Ramstein! I found you from a comment on my friend Kris's blog.
We were Army in Germany for 6 years, and I miss it. Now my son will be joining the Air Force this summer.
