I love fall! Besides winter, it's my favorite season. I love the sights, the smells, the colors, the cruching of leaves as people walk by, snuggling up in fleece pajams or a fleece blanket..or both, the food, the baking, the cold, the excitement for the upcoming holidays. I have always envisioned this veil of peace and serenity during the fall and winter season that takes place around the world. Now weather I know it exists, is beyond me, but it's nice to think that their are others who truly care about one another and are willing to go that extra mile to help them out. It could be a phone call, a letter or card in the mail box, helping someone rake the leaves, or shovel the driveway and sidewalk of snow for the neighbor that's gotten up there in years and just can't do it anymore. It's about doing these things without complaining and without the attitude "what do I get out of it?". You know what you get? The satisfaction of helping someone in need! :)
Fall decorations are few and far between aren't they? I have a few Thanksgiving things (a turkey shower curtain my mom got me), a bell, and some figurines that will go up next month. I saw recently in a home decor magazine a garland of colored artifical leaves and wreaths to hang about the home. Not too expensive either :) I might just wait next year for that though...unless I wait till after Thanksgiving is over and see if it's half price. :)
Being in Germany I have to do my Christmas shopping early (well for our relatives back in America) so I have been writing a list and throwing things around in my mind since last month. Thankfully, the stuff I plan on getting for the family isn't too costly at all. It will most likely cost more to mail it than anything! Those crazy post office rates! Getting higher and higher every year! Not cool! :(
Well I must be off...got 'woman's work' to do....LOL.
God Bless you! And Happy October!!!!
Love,
Dawn

Fall is so wonderful. I hit the dollar stores here for some decorations. I don't have tons but don't need that many things to make the place look nice.
I'm holding out for Christmas!LOL
Have A Blessed Day!
Yep. Also loving fall. Just wish ours was longer. It's really almost winter here already. But suprisingly it's the first of Oct. and we don't yet have snow. Based on the natural signs, I was predicting snow for almost 2 weeks ago. (And in years past I've been right.) Now, the professional forcasters are predicting snow for tonight. This autumnal weather always makes me hungry for a nice thick soup. I've had split-pea soup on my menu for 3 weekends now, but haven't actually gotten to make it because of things coming up that result in us eatting food other than yummy, thick split-pea.
Those faux leaf garlands really do work well to bring in some autumn color. I've used mine for about 5 years now.
I love the fall too - the heat is finally coming down, and the weather is just perfect. :)
I too love fall!! The crisp air and sound of the leaves on the ground are wonderful!
Fall is a lovely time of year. That's quite a collection of candles! Yankee Candles are just lovely!
Thanks for sharing your blog address with me. I'm hoping to have your letter out soon.
Have a beautiful day!
Oh Dawn those pictures are so pretty. i don't do a lot of decorating for the seasons. A little something here and there. I need to hang my fall door decoration though.
More and more I meet others who, like me, love autumn then winter. For years most of the people I knew would say Spring for the flowers or Summer for the beaches.
Now I meet those who prefer the cool relief and the riot of color for Autumn followed by the reverent hush of snow falling.
I LOVE FALL TOO!! It's my favorite seasons!!!
