Beauty in the small things
Some town...don't remember which one

Well, the good news above all else is that yesterday (Saturday), Robert and some mechanics spent about 6-7 hours and worked on our car. It is fixed and purring like a kitten. Robert was tired when he got home yesterday, but was so proud that he was able to accomplish mechanical things with help. He had to take down some of the exhaust system in order to drop the gas tank. But first he had to drain all the fuel...he said that took almost 3 hours in itself! So, the mechanics helped him with the fuel pump, and he also changed the fuel filter and changed the spark plugs. However he was a little rough with the bolts holding the spark plugs together and broke all 4 of them (bolts) so we have replacements on there now till we can get some later on this week.
The total cost for the labor for 7 hours plus using the tools was only $86! Can't go wrong with that now, can we? If we were back in the States and had taken the car to the Chevy dealership, they probably would have charged us $200 or more for all those hours of labor, know what I mean? So, praise God, something good is finally coming out of Germany :)
Our tired were also in but Robert couldn't get those as he didn't have time, so tomorrow I will call and make an appointment for us to get our new tires put on this Friday (Rob has 4 days off).
Robert brought Burger King home for dinner last night as he got home late and I had no idea he would be late...
Today we left the house at 8:30 a.m. and drove over to Ramstein (hour and a half drive from our home). I was going to church with Bro. and Sis. Behar! I was so excited to see them!!!! Haven't seen them since November! And I haven't seen the new church building and of course Rev. and Sis. Bellamy! Robert dropped me off at the Behar's place and he went to the BX and ummm don't know what he did while I was in church.
God really blessed my church over there! Brand new building and home. I mean it's small but it's large, does that make sense? Many bedrooms, fellowship area, 2 kitchens, 3 bathrooms and just lots of room! I am so happy for the Bellamy's and the church. It's a small church but God is really making provisions and really showing His mercy if we just serve Him.
So, it was good seeing the Bellamy's and my brothers and sisters in the Lord again! It was also wonderful to go to a church service where we can just lift our hands and cry out to God and just be happy and praise Him! Oh how I can't praise Him enough!!!!
If I did that in the little Baptist church I go to now, they would flip! LOL.
Service was really good... I found out that next Saturday is fellowship meeting their in Ramstein. The other NTCC church in Vilseck (a good 4+ hours away) is coming over and we are going to have church! The Bellamy's really want me to come since I haven't been to a fellowship meeting in 2 years! So, I talked it over with Robert and he said it's fine! Wooohooooo! It's like a mini revival when we all get together :)
After church my husband met me at the Behar's house to pick me up. Sis. Behar knows how much I love to journal and picked up 3 journals for me when she was Stateside. What a blessing! I will take pictures of them soon so you can see them :)
We said our goodbyes till next weekend and then Robert and I had lunch at Chilli's. Yum!!! And it wasn't packed!!!! It was soooooo good!
We left Ramstein and went to the other Air Force base nearby called Vogelweh. We walked around the BX. Robert got some extra memory for his mp3 player and also a Transformers book. I didn't get anything.
Then we went grocery shopping at the commissary. Of course we didn't buy any frozen / refridgerated food since we had an hour and a half drive home, we didn't want anything to spoil. We saved $9 in coupons! :)
After the commissary we headed back to Darmstadt (by this time Dixie had been on the patio for 9 hours...don't worry she had food and water so she was fine). When we got back into Darmstadt we stopped at our commissary and got some ice cream, milk and a bag of ice, then came home...finally....
After unloading the car and resting, Tony came over. We were exhausted and didn't feel up to hear him talk and talk and talk...but we let him in anyways...he likes us. We were just so tired I don't think we were good hosts...but I don't think he cares...LOL.
I hadn't plannned on anything for dinner as Chilli's was very filling, but we started getting hungry so we all went on base to the bowling alley to the food place there (the only thing open), but to our suprise, the food place was shut down!!!! Oh my gosh, we hate this place!
We took Tony thru McDonalds cuz he was starving (we didn't have enough euro on us to get meals) and took him home. I found a vegetable medly thing in the freezer to make me and Robert for supper.
It's now close to 8:30 p.m.....I am beat. I will take Dixie out at 9 p.m. and let her run crazy for 30-45 minutes and wear her out, then come home, finish my journal entry, shower and go to bed. Maybe if I am not too tired and Robert's not asleep, I will give him a foot rub. :)
God Bless You All! May the Lord protect you this coming week!
